On Monday, October 2nd, 2023, colonial Israeli settlers led their way to the town of Deir Dibwan, east of the city of Ramallah, and cut down over 60 olive trees, disrupting Palestinians’ preparations for the olive harvest season.
Local sources reported that during the Sunday nighttime hours, Israeli settlers invaded an agricultural field belonging to the Palestinian citizen Abdul Jabr, and kicked off with cutting down 60 fruitful olive trees using mechanical saws.
On the Palestinian calendar, residents every year mark October 12th as olive harvesting season, during which they gather to harvest their fields in a wonderful scene that shows their unity and connection to their land.
However, many Palestinian villages and towns witness sudden attacks by colonial Israeli settlers on farmers and their olive trees, especially in the vicinity of settlements and bypass roads.
The annual olive harvest season serves as a poignant reminder of the resilience and determination of Palestinian farmers, who continue to cultivate their land and preserve their heritage, even in the face of significant challenges.
