A group of Israeli settlers, accompanied by Israeli occupation forces IOF, invaded the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque through the Al-Maghariba gate, on Sunday, July 23, 2023.
The Department of Islamic Endowments in occupied Jerusalem confirmed that a significant number of Israeli settlers conducted provocative rituals in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of IOF.
These settlers regularly engage in Talmudic practices, seen as provocative and disrespectful by the Muslim Palestinian community, who deeply value the site’s sanctity.
Moreover, the frequent incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound are seen as deliberate efforts to create a division within the sacred grounds, both in terms of time and space.
Yet, this proposition is strongly opposed and denounced by the Muslim Palestinian community, as it poses a threat to the site’s unity and integrity.
Recent reports in June have brought to light a proposed Israeli plan to divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque between Jews and Muslims, intensifying tensions and exacerbating existing concerns.
These developments have spurred Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem to amplify their calls for mobilization at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, aiming to counter the planned mass incursions by Israeli settlers and protect the sanctity of the holy site.
Based on the report from the Jerusalem-based “Al-Qastal” news network, a significant number of around 4,000 Israeli settlers invaded the Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of June 2023.
