Saudi Arabia and Iran expressed condemnation of the Israeli aggression on Al-Aqsa Mosque and Muslim worshipers in occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday morning, April 5, 2023.
In a statement, the Saudi Ministry of foreign affairs said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia condemned the blatant Israeli storming of Al-Aqsa, affirming its rejection of the Israeli policies that ‘violate international principles and norms’ regarding respect for religious sanctities.
“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reaffirms its position in supporting all efforts aimed at ending the occupation and reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause,” the statement read.
In addition, Iran’s foreign ministry lambasted ‘the violent attack’ by Israeli occupation forces on Palestinian worshipers during the holy month of Ramadan.
Nasser Kanaani, the spokesperson of Iranian Foreign affairs, said that the brutal attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque has once again laid bare the criminal and inhumane nature of the regime before the eyes of the world.
“This crime is strongly condemned, and deserves the immediate reaction of the Muslim world, freedom-loving people around the world as well as responsible international bodies,” Press TV quoted Kanaani as saying.
On Tuesday night, Israeli occupation forces invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque and launched violent attacks on Palestinian worshipers, forcibly removing them from Al-Qibli Prayer Hall.
The attacks caused the injury of at least 200 Palestinian worshipers, including women. The Israeli forces also detained some 500 others.
