The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned on Monday, September 18, 2023, the intrusion of settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which occurred on Sunday, under the protection of Israeli occupation forces.
In a statement issued on Monday, the ministry emphasized that these actions are a blatant challenge to international norms and conventions, and it clarified that they provoke the sentiments of Muslims.
“The Israeli occupation authorities bear full responsibility for the repercussions of these violations,” the Ministry said, calling on the international community to provide protection for civilians and to exert all efforts to end the conflict.
Earlier on Sunday, hundreds of settlers invaded the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in consecutive groups, performing Talmudic rituals while dressed as “Torah priests” and engaging in “prostration,” along with the blowing of the horn.
Israeli forces brutally attacked Palestinian worshipers who were stationed at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, simultaneously with the extensive incursions by settlers into the mosque at the beginning of the Jewish holidays.
The “Temple Organizations” called upon their followers through social media to carry out collective incursions and perform Talmudic rituals and Torah rites within Al-Aqsa during the ongoing holiday period.

Calls for Action
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, Egypt expressed its strong condemnation of the extremist group’s incursion into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of Israeli forces.
Egypt called on Israeli occupation authorities to immediately halt such escalatory actions, which provoked the sentiments of millions of Muslims worldwide and contributed to the escalation of violence in the occupied Palestinian territories.
In addition, Egypt emphasized that the repeated incursions into the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and attempts to temporally and spatially divide it, in violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, will not affect its historical and legal status as a purely Islamic Waqf (endowment).
Egypt pointed out that such provocative actions undermine the foundations of the settlement upon which regional and international efforts for a two-state solution are based.
Furthermore, Egypt reiterated its call to influential international parties, the United Nations and its relevant bodies, to assume their responsibilities in protecting the rights of the Palestinian people.
Egypt affirmed its full commitment to supporting the inalienable Palestinian rights and endorsing all efforts aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem.
Earlier on The Arab Parliament strongly condemned the settlers’ incursion into the Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of Israeli forces and the closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque to worshipers during the so-called “Jewish New Year.” It warned against the danger of this escalation, as it undermines the prospects for peace and threatens security and stability in the region.
