On the occasion of Palestinian Child Day, the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs called on the international community, particularly the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF), to provide protection for 160 Palestinian children held in Israeli jails.
The commission said that 160 Palestinian children are held in the occupation jails and subjected to severe conditions, including insulting and depriving them of their freedom.
The occupation deliberately carries out many violations against the child prisoners from the moment of their arrest, such as the brutal way in which they are taken from their homes in the late hours of the night, and depriving them of health care and medical treatment night, it added.
The commission called on the international community to urgently intervene to end the suffering of child detainees held in jails and to hold Israel accountable for the crimes it commits against them.
