As the industrial production index increased to 105.01 in February 2022 compared to 99.09 during January of that same year (the base year 2019 = 100).
The industrial production movement quantities at the level of the main economic activities:
The activities of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply activities increased by 7.08%, and their relative importance constitutes 7.38% of the total industry activities.
Manufacturing activities also recorded an increase of 6.21% during the month of February 2022 compared to the previous month, and their relative importance constituted 87.89% of the total industry activities.
As for the sub-activities that have a significant relative impact on the overall index, some manufacturing activities recorded an increase during February 2022 compared to January 2022, the most important of which is the manufacture of formed metal products– except for machines and equipment i.e. The production of Aluminum
The manufacture of non-metallic mineral products: concrete adjacent products such as stone, marble, and asphalt, the tobacco product industry, the chemical products industry, the manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and their preparations, the printing and reproduction activities of recorded media, the furniture industry, the textile industry, the leather, and related products industry.
Meanwhile, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, water supply, sewerage, waste management, and cleanup operations decreased by 2.40 percent, accounting for 1.84 percent of overall activity.
