Otzma Yehudit party has opted to boycott the Wednesday Knesset votes in response to what they perceived as the government’s inadequate response to the series of rocket strikes from the Gaza Strip.

Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes on multiple locations in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

The airstrikes came following the death of Palestinian prisoner Khader Adnan, who had been on a prolonged hunger strike in an Israeli jail.

Adnan’s death sparked an outcry from Palestinians, who responded by firing rockets from Gaza into Israeli territory.

The right-wing party declared on Wednesday morning that they will have a faction assembly in the city of Sderot, located close to the Gaza border.

MK Almog Cohen (Otzma Yehudit) announced on Wednesday that he will be establishing a parliamentary office in Sderot.

On Wednesday morning, Alon Davidi, the mayor of Sderot, also strongly criticized the Israeli government.
