Early Monday July 7th, Palestinian Civil Defence retrieved the bodies of three Palestinians who were found killed and handcuffed at Karem Abu Salem crossing, south of the Gaza Strip, after being released from Israeli prisons.
According to local sources, the four prisoners were aid workers in Gaza targeted immediately upon their release. One released prisoner was recovered yesterday and three others were pulled out this morning, showing clear signs of torture on their bodies.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club condemns the field executions carried out by the Israeli occupation forces against four prisoners from Gaza, constituting it a new war crime added to the long record of ongoing genocide crimes against Gaza people for 275 days.
The Prisoners Club clarified that initial reports indicated that 15 Palestinians, including aid workers, were arrested by the Israeli forces and subjected to long days of torture, beatings, and humiliating treatment under harsh detention conditions that violated their human dignity.
The Club emphasized that Israel has killed dozens of Gaza prisoners, whether in prisons’ torture camps, or through field executions. Six of the Gaza detainees were identified among 18 others who were tortured to death since the genocide began.
“Testimonies from prisoners continue to reflect an unprecedented level of torture practiced by the Israeli occupation over decades against detainees in prisons’ camps, including starvation policies and medical negligence, resulting in the killing of many prisoners,” it added.
The total number of prisoners incarcerated in Israeli occupation prisons as of early July reached more than 9700, including 3380 administrative detainees and more than 1400 Gaza prisoners classified by the occupation prisons authority as “unlawful prisoners.”
This figure does not include all Gaza detainees in Israeli torture camps.
“The Prisoners Club reiterated its calls to the United Nations to initiate an international investigation into the ongoing crimes against prisoners, extrajudicial executions.”
