DaysofPal – Another breach of the ceasefire agreement occurred on Tuesday when Israeli forces shot and injured a Palestinian civilian while airstrikes and live fire continued in various parts of the Gaza Strip.
A medical source reported that an injured man from the Bani Suheila roundabout area was transferred to Nasser Medical Complex after being struck by gunfire from Israeli forces.
Israeli warplanes simultaneously conducted heavy low-altitude flights over southern Gaza and launched airstrikes against Khan Younis’ eastern regions. Israeli aircraft also opened fire toward eastern Deir al-Balah and the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
Eyewitnesses said Israeli forces were constructing large earthen barriers in the area, similar to those erected along the eastern border of the enclave. In a related development, several Israeli military vehicles advanced into the vicinity of the Kissufim crossing, south of Deir al-Balah, where they began land-clearing operations.
These attacks coincided with a severe weather system that has further worsened conditions for Palestinians in Gaza. A young girl died in Gaza City due to extreme cold, highlighting the growing humanitarian crisis.
Mahmoud Bassal, spokesperson for Gaza’s Civil Defense, warned of a potential rise in fatalities, particularly among young children, as the harsh cold wave continues alongside the deteriorating humanitarian situation.
He said conditions on the ground are extremely difficult, especially for infants and patients, noting that thousands of families are living in worn-out tents that offer little protection from cold temperatures and rain.
Despite the ceasefire being in place for 100 days, Israeli forces have killed 479 Palestinians and wounded 1,280 others in the Gaza Strip, according to local figures.
