Palestinian organizations concerned with the prisoners’ affairs organized Saturday, August 26, a protest in the centre of occupied Ramallah in solidarity with the sick Palestinian prisoners and hunger strikers inside the Israeli occupation prisons.
The prisoners’ families took part in the protest, holding their pictures and demanding the release of the sick prisoners, the top of whom are cancer patients Walid Daqqa, Asef Al-Rufa’i, and Abd Al-Basit Ma’tan.
The organizers called on the Palestinian people to support the prisoners inside Israeli prisons by all means and to be a part of their long struggle with the occupation.
The participants chanted some slogans that expressed their support for the prisoners and demanded their freedom.
They stressed that such protests and activities will be continuously launched to support the prisoners and expose the Israeli occupation’s crimes to the world.
The number of sick Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons has increased to 750, including patients with chronic and serious diseases and 26 cancer patients, according to the Wa’ed Association for Detainees and Ex-detainees.
