Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem began on Sunday, February 19, 2023, civil disobedience in four major towns in protest of the Israeli ongoing crimes.

Palestinian local sources said that civil disobedience went into effect on Sunday early morning in the Jerusalem areas of Anata, Jabal Al-Mukaber, Shuafat refugee camp, and Al-Issawiya.

Palestinian youths closed the main roads in the four areas and burnt tires in the streets, protesting against the Israeli ongoing restrictions and crimes.

Earlier on Saturday, the Palestinian National and Islamic Forces strongly condemned the Israeli crimes and called for civil disobedience.

In a statement, the Forces said that the disobedience measures include calling on Palestinian workers not to go to their workplaces in the occupied Palestinian lands.

The measures also included refusing to pay taxes to the Israeli authorities and the Israeli municipality of Jerusalem, closing the road leading to the Shuafat camp checkpoint, and closing the entrance to Anata town.

In addition, the statement pointed out that these measures came following a series of Israeli crimes committed in Jerusalem, including demolitions, murders, and arrests.

In a related development, Israeli occupation forces invaded the Jerusalem town of Al-Issawiya, which triggered confrontations.

The Forces threatened to expand the obedience measures across all of occupied Palestine in case Israeli repressive measures didn’t stop.
