The Follow-up Committee of Palestinian National and Islamic Forces voiced their disapproval of the UNRWA’s decision to extend the Framework Agreement with the US government for the years 2023-2024 given the favoritism to the Israeli occupation in the terms.
In Sunday’s statement, the committee held the view that the renewal of the contract has once more been approved by the UNRWA, due to American influence, based on the financial crisis.
It carried a warning that the UNRWA may be going beyond its authority from the United Nations, that was provided support Palestinian refugees in their search of political liberty, autonomy and, most importantly, the right to come back in addition to having the self-determination.
Palestinian groups implored UNRWA to quickly rescind this action, and for the international community to look for alternatives to the manufactured financial problems that do not go against UNRWA’s given duty.
The Israeli Supreme Court’s authorization of the removal of Palestinians from Masafer Yatta on the alleged basis that it is a military firing zone was roundly denounced as well, with concern expressed over the potential repercussions of enforcing this choice, which could become a spark that causes further unrest.
