Dozens of Palestinians participated in vigils Tuesday, December 27 across the West Bank cities of Ramallah, Tulkarm, Bethlehem, and Hebron calling on the Israeli occupation to hand over the bodies of Palestinian citizens Israeli forces killed lately.
Palestinian who participated in the march held empty coffins and raised pictures of killed Palestinians, who Israeli occupation has kept for years. The participant also waved the Palestinian flags and chanted: “We want our children.”.
The mother of cancer-stricken detainee Nasser Abu Hamid who died in Israeli jails due to Israel’s deliberate medical negligence policy took Part in the rallies along with dozens of Palestinian citizens, the national action factions, human rights activists, and humanitarian and prisoners institutions.
“I am here for the body of Nasser and the bodies of all killed Palestinians detained by Israel. I am here to honor them by burying them in the land of Palestine which sacrificed their lives for its freedom and independence.” She said.
The families of killed Palestinians called on international and human rights organizations to pressure the Israeli occupation authorities to hand over the bodies.
They added the corpses are held in mortuary refrigerators and the so-called “graves of numbers,” assuring that the families’ activities will continue until the bodies are returned.
Israeli occupation is currently holding over 300 corpses of Palestinians who were killed by Israeli soldiers since 2015 and refuses to return them to their families.
