Days of Palestine – Jenin
Large Palestinian masses in Jenin mourned Saturday the body of the martyr Amjad Al-Fayed, 17, who was killed by the Israeli occupation forces.
The participants in the funeral chanted slogans condemning the crimes of the occupation, calling for close ranks and strengthening national unity, in order to confront the terrorism and crimes of the occupation against our people, their land, and their holy sites.
A general strike took place in mourning for the spirit of the slain Palestinian teen Amjad Al-Fayed, who was killed early today during the storming of Jenin by the occupation forces.
The national and Islamic action factions in Jenin announced the comprehensive strike, in mourning for the soul of the martyr Al-Fayed, amid calls for revenge and to continue confronting the occupation forces.
Meanwhile, Hamas Movement mourned the martyr Amjad Al-Fayed, offering its sincere condolences to his family and our heroic people in Jenin.
The Movement in a statement confirmed that the Zionist occupation’s targeting of the 17-year-old boy Amjad Al-Fayed with live bullets at dawn today in Jenin, leaving him to bleed until he died, and shooting directly at the people and their vehicles, is a heinous crime.
“Escalating terrorism exposes the brutality and sadism of this occupation and reveals the state of confusion and terror experienced by its leaders and soldiers, due to the state of popular cohesion and resistance in Jenin and the entire occupied West Bank,” Hamas stressed.
The movement stated that the blood of the martyr will be fuel for a renewed uprising, and will increase our people’s insistence on escalating the resistance and clashing with the occupation by all means, until it deters and removes it from our land.
In the same context, Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh condemned the Israeli occupation for killing Fayed, stressing that the international community should hold Israel accountable for its acts.
Shtayyeh warned of “the serious consequences of these repeated crimes,” calling on the international community to condemn them and to hold the perpetrators accountable.
