Three Palestinian human rights organizations have filed a lawsuit with the International Criminal Court (ICC) accusing the Israeli occupation of apartheid and genocide in the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The lawsuit, submitted by Al Haq, Al Mezan and the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, urges the ICC to consider these crimes in its ongoing investigation of the situation in Palestine, which was launched in March 2021.
The lawsuit also says that Israeli actions in Gaza, especially during the ongoing aggression on Gaza since October 2023, constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity. It calls for the ICC to issue arrest warrants for Israeli officials, including President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant.
