The Palestinian Resistance Commemorates 1st Anniversary of Defense Battle entitled “Sword of Jerusalem” against Israeli War on Gaza in 2021.
The Palestinian Resistance held a national conference in the Gaza strip commemorating the first anniversary of the defense battle the Palestinian resistance and Palestinian people in Occupied Palestinian Territories OPT waged to defend the Israeli war upon the besieged Gaza strip and Islamic sacred places in the Occupied city of Jerusalem.
Chairman of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh said in a video conference speech he delivered in the conference that the Palestinian resistance as well as Palestinian people have set strategic rules to manage the conflict against the Israeli occupation and halt Israeli crimes against Palestinian people and Islamic sacred places in Jerusalem.
Haniyeh stated that Israeli assaults upon Islamic holy places mainly Aqsa Mosque as well as people in Jerusalem and other areas in Occupied Palestinian Territories will not go without action by Palestinian resistance that would take every initiative to defend people and sacred places of Palestine.
Haniyeh hailed the combat performance of Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas movement, noting that such military power is dedicated to the whole Palestinian people and will not hesitate to take imitative of taking action to defend Palestinian people and their lands.
He warned the Israeli occupation against holding the settlers’ flag march that violates Aqsa mosque as well as other Islamic holy places in occupied Jerusalem, noting that such Israeli crime will pull the trigger of another confrontation against the Israeli occupation.
In the same context, the secretary-general of Islamic Jihad Zyad Nakhala said via video conference speech in the national conference that the unity of the Palestinian people everywhere inside and outside Palestine is the first guarantee for the continuation the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation.
Nakhala said the unification of combat efforts in all areas is a necessity that must be invested and built upon.
For its part, The Joint Operation Room for the Palestinian Factions stated it follows up on the developments across Palestine, especially the Israeli occupation’s aggression against Aqsa mosque, and it will not hesitate to take action to defend sacred places and Palestinian people against Israeli assaults.
Israeli occupation launched in May 2021 a comprehensive military assault against the Gaza strip where more than 160 Israeli jets kept up bombing Gaza for 11 days, killing 232 Palestinians including 69 children and 39 women, and injuring some 2000 others.
