Palestinian prisoners, incarcerated at the “Ofer” prison, decided on Sunday, September 3, 2023, to take a series of actions, including; closing sections, returning their meals, and pursuing organizational representation changes.
In a joint statement released on Sunday evening, the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, along with the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, explained that this move is in response to the Israeli prison administration’s decision to move 120 prisoners with long sentences to harsher collective isolation section.
Early morning on Sunday, the Palestinian prisoners’ movement stated that some 1,000 Palestinian prisoners decided to begin a mass hunger strike in response to Ben Gvir’s reduction of family visits.
