The Palestinian prisoner Ahmed Salama entered Monday, 12 December 2022 his 20th year in the Israeli occupation prisons.
The Palestinian prisoners Club stated that the 38-year-old Palestinian prisoner Salama from Qalqilya was chased for two years by the Israeli occupation. He was severely injured by Israeli occupation troops before his arrest in 2003 which caused him a disability in his right hand and he is still suffering from its effects.
He was subjected to a harsh and long investigation and later he was sentenced to 24 years in Israeli prison.
During the years of detention, Salama obtained a bachelor’s degree and now he is completing a master’s degree.
Salama recently lost his father and the Israeli occupation prevented him from bidding him the last farewell.
4,700 Palestinians are currently being held behind bars in 23 Israeli-run prisons and detention centers across the Palestinian-occupied lands, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club (PPC).
The PPC said all Palestinian prisoners are held in inhumane conditions, do not receive necessary medical care, and are exposed to deliberate medical neglect.
