At least one Palestinian young man has sustained injuries in the leg, and others were detained after Israeli occupation forces stormed Aqabat Jaber camp, south of the occupied West Bank city of Jericho, early this morning, September 11th, 2023, and started to shoot at Palestinian civilians there, according to the Red Crescent.
Sounds of gunfire exchange between Israeli occupation soldiers and Palestinian resistance fighters, who fended off the surprising military raid, were loudly heard in the camp amid heavy Israeli reinforcement pushed into the place.
Islamic Jihad’s military bridge of Saraya Al-Quds said that a special Israeli unit invaded the camp, but it was immediately met with a barrage of bullets and explosive devices. From the sky, Israeli occupation drones continued to hover over the camp for detection purposes and to guard the soldiers’ military raid.
Sources confirmed that Israeli forces fired bullets and toxic gas bombs at Palestinian civilians as well as at the houses, resulting in the injury of many people and terrorizing children and women. A Palestinian house was about to catch fire due to Israel’s firing bombs, accordingly.
Also, many Palestinian youths were arrested, other houses were wreaked havoc, and Palestinian-owned vehicles were set ablaze by Israeli occupation forces, as part of their usual military raid.
Israel’s raid into Aqabat Jaber coincided with armed clashes, which broke out between the Israeli army and Palestinian resistance fighters in several Palestinian cities and towns, including Jenin and Hebron, and with a large-scale arrest campaign in other West Bank towns.
In Bethlehem, Nablus and Qalqilya, Palestinian stone-throwing youths targeted Israeli settlers’ vehicles with heavy rocks, injuring a colonial settler and some vehicles. In Hebron, an Israeli military tower was set ablaze due to a Molotov cocktail thrown by Palestinian youths who were attacked and assaulted by Israeli soldiers on a daily basis.
