The Palestinian Ministry of Prisoners and ex-Prisoners stated on Sunday, October 30, 2022, that the female prisoner Fadwa Hamada is held under poor conditions in Damon prison as Israeli occupation authorities deliberately practice medical negligence against her.
Prisoner Fawda is held with Israeli criminal prisoners shouting all night and knocking on the doors to deprive her of sleeping, the ministry explained.
The Ministry pointed out that the Israeli occupation authorities deliberately practise medical negligence against prisoner Hamada and delay in her treatment as she suffered a fracture in the foot several months ago.
Although several requests for treatment had been submitted to specialist doctors, the Damon Prison Administration had so far refused to respond to her demands.
The Jerusalem prisoner Fadwa Hamada was detained on August 12, 2017, after Israeli occupation accused her of attempting to carry out a stabbing operation in the Damascus Gate area in Jerusalem.
She was brought to a series of hearings in Israeli courts, then finally sentenced to 10 years in prison and a fine of 30,000 NIS.
Hamada stayed in solitary isolation for about three and a half months, last year because she confronted an Israeli female jailer who was insulting one of the Palestinian prisoners.
Fadwa Hamada, 35, is a mother of five children; the oldest of whom is 10 years old, and the youngest is three and a half years old.
The current number of Palestinians in Israel occupation prisons is 4,700, including 30 women prisoners, according to recent figures published by Palestinian sources at the end of September.
