DaysofPal — Palestinian national and Islamic factions in Gaza have sounded the alarm over what they describe as an “existential threat” to the Palestinian people, warning that escalating plans for displacement could extend beyond the Gaza Strip to the West Bank in a broader effort to eliminate the Palestinian cause.
The warning came during an urgent national meeting convened Tuesday morning by the Follow-Up Committee of National and Islamic Forces at the Unknown Soldier Square in Gaza City. The meeting aimed to confront U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies, which Palestinian factions view as attempts to dismantle their national aspirations.
During the gathering, the factions called on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to urgently convene a meeting of the secretaries-general of all Palestinian factions. They stressed that coordinated action and unified leadership are essential in facing the current threats.
In a strongly worded statement, the factions condemned recent remarks by President Trump regarding the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza, describing them as a “declaration of war” aimed at uprooting Palestinians from their homeland.
They vowed that the Palestinian people, who have endured decades of struggle and sacrifice, will not abandon their land and will resist any forced displacement by all available means.
Furthermore, they asserted that what Israel has failed to achieve through military offensives and mass killings cannot be imposed through political pressure or economic incentives.
The factions labeled the displacement plans as an act of ethnic cleansing and warned that they would be met with widespread resistance.
Calling for decisive action, the factions urged the upcoming Arab League summit to adopt concrete measures against the “criminal displacement schemes.”
They also called on Arab and Islamic nations to uphold their responsibilities by providing political and economic support to Palestinian resilience.
Amid these developments, the factions emphasized the necessity of escalating resistance in the West Bank, arguing that the current phase requires intensified efforts to counter Israeli settlement expansion and displacement policies.
The statement concluded with a defiant message: the Palestinian people will remain steadfast in the face of all attempts at erasure and forced exile. Any effort to impose new realities on the ground, the factions warned, will be met with a united and determined resistance across all Palestinian communities.
