The Palestinian Commission for Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs stated that the Palestinian prisoners of “Ofer”decided today, Monday, December 12, 2022 to return two meals in solidarity with the two cancer-stricken prisoners, Nasser Abu Hamid and Walid Daqqa.

It is noteworthy that the prisoner Abu Hamid was transferred yesterday from “Ramla” prison, to the hospital, after a critical rise in temperature and a drop in his heartbeat.

The prisoner, Nasser Abu Hamid, is one of 24 cases suffering from cancer and tumors to varying degrees.Rather, it is considered one of the most difficult cases held in the occupation prisons.

He is 49 years old, and he is from Al-Amari camp / Ramallah. He has been detained since 2002 and is sentenced to life imprisonment and 50 years.

It is worths mentioning that the prisoner, Daqqa, was recently transferred to the Israeli “Barzlai” hospital, and it was found that he was suffering from a severe drop in blood, and after medical examinations he underwent, it was confirmed that he had leukemia.

The prisoner Daqqa has been detained since March 25, 1986, and has been subjected to a number of abusive policies.

It is noteworthy that the occupation issued a life imprisonment sentence against him, which was later determined to be (37) years, and then two years added to his sentence in 2018, to become (39) years.
