The Palestinian prisoner, Nahar Al-Saadi completed Thursday, September 15, 2022, 19 years behind Israeli prison bars, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS).
The director of PPS in Jenin, Montaser Sammour declared that prisoner Nahar al-Saadi, 41, from occupied Jenin, was detained on September 15, 2003, and sentenced to 20 years in jail with the charge of resisting the occupation.
The Jenin-born Palestinian prisoner has served 19 years in an Israeli prison having extensive periods of solitary confinement, which caused him to develop a number of severe illnesses, including back pain, stomach and bowel issues, bone pain, and sprained bones.
Since 2015, Israel has ordered more than 9500 Palestinians to be held in administrative detention without any trial or charge.
According to the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Commission, the number of Palestinian prisoners currently incarcerated in Israeli jails is about 4650, including 32 women, 180 minors, 500 sick prisoners, and 743 administrative detainees. A total of 551 prisoners are serving various life terms.
