Washington- The Palestinian American Organizations Network in the United States has condemned the decision of the Israeli occupation authorities to limit the number of worshipers and visitors to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher to perform religious rites on Easter / Easter on the Eastern calendar.
And it condemned in a statement today, Friday, that tens of thousands of them prevented Christian worshipers from reaching Jerusalem, despite obtaining prior permits, which would spoil its joy for the millions of believers who celebrate the ascension of Jesus Christ to heaven.
It considered that the occupation authorities’ adoption of this arbitrary decision is a blatant violation of the rights of our people from the Christian sects to freely perform their religious rites as guaranteed to them by all international norms and laws. She said: This blatant attack on our Christian people comes as a continuation of the attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Muslim worshipers in it, and hundreds of them were wounded and arrested.
She added that the occupation’s attempts to harass our Christian people come within the framework of incitement and tightening the screws on them to push them to emigrate, forgetting that they are the original owners of the land and its salt, and they are an authentic part of our Palestinian people who are stationed and defending their homeland and its sanctities. destiny, and the establishment of his democratic state on the whole of the soil of historic Palestine, so that everyone can enjoy it freely, without discrimination, in the light of citizenship for all in rights and duties.
(Al-Shabaka) called on the US administration, which sings day and night about its defense of freedom and democracy, as it does in Ukraine, to pressure the occupying power to desist from these unacceptable and condemned practices against our Palestinian people.
She said, “The policy of double standards will not benefit this administration, which has proven its lies time and time again and has retracted all the promises it made to itself regarding the Palestinian national issue in order to obtain the votes of our community in the last elections.
We remind this administration that the midterm elections are near and our community will remember those Promises that were not fulfilled when they cast their votes.
She called upon our steadfast Palestinian people in Jerusalem, the West Bank and the besieged Gaza to unite in the field, defend Jerusalem and its sanctities, and defeat the occupation in the battle of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, as it defeated it in the battle of raising banners and offerings in Al-Aqsa.
I appealed to the members of our Palestinian community in the United States, who are preparing to stage dozens of demonstrations and marches during the next two days, and at the end of next week, to commemorate Quds Day on the last Friday of Ramadan, that the slogans should be to defend all Islamic and Christian holy sites alike.
We are the sons of one people and a homeland. One and all these intrigues open to all will not separate us.
