Pro-Palestine activists in London gathered in the streets to mark Nakba day, Israel’s ethnic cleansing of Palestine, on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Protesters in London demanded immediate action from the British government to end the Israeli brutal aggression against the Palestinians in Gaza.
They raised Palestinian flags and signs condemning the Israeli ongoing attacks against the Palestinian people and demanding that the Palestinian people will return to their homeland.
The protest coincided with deadly attacks carried out by Israeli warplanes on the Gaza Strip, during which 33 Palestinians were killed and 147 others were injured.
In addition, participants expressed their disappointment with the British role with regard to the Palestinian cause, confirming that what is happening is a continuation of the Nakba.
“The historical role of the British government and what it is doing now cannot be overestimated,” one of the protesters said during an interview with Middle East Eye MEE.
He added that the ongoing Nakba of the Palestinian people would not happen if the British government didn’t provide complicity and cover to Israel.
The 75th anniversary of Nakba came at a time when Palestinians are living under the control of the most racist and extremist Israeli governments.
So far in 2023, Israel has killed 151 Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian lands, 33 of whom were killed during the latest attacks on Gaza.
