Algerian prime minister Ramtane Lamamra on Friday, September 30, called for granting Palestine a full membership at the United Nation General Assembly (UNGA) as Palestine currently holds an observer status at the UN.

The PM said that Algeria believes in the Palestinian people’s “right to establish their independent state on the borders of 1967 with Jerusalem as its capital.

“Palestinian cause is the main key to restoring security and stability in the Middle East,” Lamamra said in his speech at UNGA.

He also stressed on ending Israeli occupation and called for the prosperity of Palestine and its people.

Algeria has always been in solidarity with Palestine since the occupation took place in 1948.
