Palestinians observe a general strike in Ramallah and other West Bank cities in honor of the Palestinian leader Ismail Hanyyih.
Several world States have condemned the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Hanyyih in Iran’s Capital of Tehran on Wednesday.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed that “Iran will defend its territory and honor and will make the terrorist invaders regret their cowardly actions.”
The State of Qatar condemned in the strongest terms the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of Hamas, in the Iranian capital Tehran. We consider it “A heinous crime, a dangerous escalation, and a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law.”
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said “The assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of Hamas, is an entirely unacceptable political crime and will lead to further escalation in tensions.”
The President of the Supreme Political Council in Yemen, Mahdi al-Mashat, announced a three-day mourning period and the lowering of flags in the aftermath of the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas politburo.
Mousa Abu Marzouk, a member of the Hamas political bureau said, “The assassination of leader Ismail Haniyeh is a cowardly act and will not go unpunished.”
Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, Mustafa Barghouti, added that “The Palestinian people have lost a brave and steadfast leader who was always distinguished by his patriotism and integrity.”
Senior Hamas spokesperson Sami Abu Zuhri described the assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh as a “grave escalation that will not achieve its goals.”
