The Commission for Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs reported on Tuesday that the 39 female prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons are suffering from complex conditions in light of the pressures they are subjected to from the administration of Damon Prison.
The commission indicated that the policies of deprivation and abuse continue against Palestinian female prisoners, such as deliberate medical neglect against female patients, among them:
The commission said that the female prisoner Israa Al-Jaabis suffers severe burns and needs surgical intervention to save her body. Rawan Abu Ziada suffers from an unknown germ in the digestive system and bone problems.
Nisreen Abu Kamil suffers from high blood sugar, blood pressure diseases, and steadfastness Abu Dhaher who complains of blood problems. The captive Anhar Hajja Aldeek is pregnant, suffers from pregnancy complications, wasting, and general weakness in the body.
The commission added that among the violations that female prisoners suffer is monitoring Al-Fora Square in Damon prison with cameras, which violates their privacy and restricts their movement. The occupation authorities are confiscating books from the prison library, depriving them of family visits.
They pointed out that the number of female prisoners is currently 39 female prisoners languishing in Damon prison. Hilwa Hamamra was liberated on 8/8/2021, including a female prisoner in administrative detention, Bushra Al-Taweel, and a female prisoner from the Gaza Strip, Nisreen Hassan.
