The Spanish city of Mallorca last Thursday approved in a plenary session the initiative of the “We Can” organization, which condemns the Israeli attacks on Palestine.
The organization’s spokeswoman, Magdalena Gilbert, said during the plenary session that the violence and bombing of the civilian population must stop forever.
The history of this conflict is a history of illegal occupation by Israel and its de facto discriminatory policy, with apartheid against the Palestinian population, she added.
The Vice President of the International Institute (IMAS) also stressed that “Israel’s attacks are clearly due to a colonial policy aimed at the disappearance of the Palestinian people.”
The proposal also calls for the protection of Palestinian human rights defenders, humanitarian workers, and organizations.
“It is important to adhere to international law and to resume channels of dialogue and negotiation,” the United We Can spokeswoman concluded.
