Health Minister says 20 Palestinians died of coronavirus and 578 new cases recorded in 24 hours

Days of Palestine – Ramallah

In her daily report on coronavirus in Palestine, Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said today that 20 people have died, 578 new cases were recorded, and 862 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours.

Six people died in the Gaza Strip, twelve in the West Bank, and two in Jerusalem recorded over two days, she said.

It indicated that new injuries were recorded in the governorates as follows: Tubas (22), Bethlehem (35), Nablus (47), Tulkarm (25), Salfit (17), the suburbs of Jerusalem (8), Qalqilya (8), Jericho. Al-Aghwar (3), Jenin (20), Ramallah and Al-Bireh (37), Hebron (28), Gaza Strip (212), and Jerusalem (116), indicating that 4,086 tests were performed.

Al-Kaila added that the new cases of recovery were recorded according to the following: Tubas (27), Bethlehem (41), Tulkarm (29), Salfit (19), Qalqilya (23), Jericho and Al-Aghwar (9), Jenin (21), Ramallah and Al-Bireh. (75), Hebron (32), Gaza Strip (360), Jerusalem (226).

Recoveries account for 91.8 percent of total cases since the pandemic outbreak in March, active cases for 7.1 percent and the death toll accounts for 1.1 percent.

The Minister of Health said 84 patients remain in intensive care, including 21 on ventilators.
