Days of Palestine – Ramallah
Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said today that 30 deaths from COVID-19, 978 new infections and 1670 recoveries were registered in Palestine during the last 24 hours.
Among the new 978 confirmed cases, 541 cases were recorded in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and 437 others in the besieged Gaza Strip.
Jerusalem city was ranked the fist in terms of the number of cases with 177 cases, followed by Ramallah and al-Bireh district (71), Nablus (56), Jenin (48), Tulkarm (43), Hebron (39), Jerusalem suburbs (28), Bethlehem (26), Salfit (23), Qalqilia (18), Jericho & the Jordan Valley (7) and Tubas (5).
The death cases, Al-Kaileh added, included 21 death cases in the West Bank and nine others in the Gaza Strip. The West Bank deaths were distributed as follows: Hebron (4), Bethlehem (4), Ramallah and al-Bireh (3), Salfit (3), Nablus (3), Jerusalem (2), Jenin (1) and Tulkarm (1).
She added that 1,670 Covid-19 patients recovered in the occupied territories; 962 recovery cases in the West Bank and 708 others in the Gaza Strip.
Jerusalem city was ranked the first among West Bank districts with 292 recovery cases, followed by Nablus district (221), Ramallah and al-Bireh (136), Hebron (108), Jenin (82), Tulkarm (42), Tubas (37), Salfit (26), Qalailia (9) and Jericho and the Jordan Valley (9).
Al-Kaileh added that 93 Covid-19 patients are still being hospitalized in intensive care units, including 25 who are connected to ventilators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 168,652.
Out of the 168,652 cases, 103,245 are recorded in the West Bank, 46,524 in the Gaza Strip and 18,883 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 152,504, and the death toll reached 1,814, leaving a total of 14,334 active cases.
She noted that the recovery rate in Palestine has so far reached 90.4 percent, active cases for 8.5 percent and the death toll accounts for 1.1 percent.
