Days of Palestine – Jerusalem
Israeli occupation authorities on Friday forced a Jerusalemite family to self-demolish part of their home, in the Ras al-Amud neighborhood in the town of Silwan, under the pretext of building without a permit.
Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation municipality forced the Jerusalemite citizen Hatem al-Salaymeh to demolish part of his house, which he had lived in for 20 years, along with his wife and three children.
The Israeli occupation authorities threatened the Al-Salaymah family to demolish the entire house if the part for which he was paying an annual fine of 70,000 shekels was not carried out 20 years ago.
"The Israeli occupation forced us to demolish our house with our hands, otherwise it will completely demolish the house," said Taj al-Din al-Salaymeh.
Palestinians are forced to destroy their homes by hand in Jerusalem; To avoid paying heavy fines imposed by the Israeli occupation municipality.
The demolitions are carried out under the pretext of non-permits used by the Israeli occupation municipality to prevent the natural expansion of Palestinians and restrict them and confiscate their lands in order to Judaize the Holy City and fully control the land.
