Days of Palestine – Hebron
On Saturday, a number of citizens were suffocated as a result of inhaling tear gas, in clashes with the Israeli occupation army, in the center of Hebron, in the southern West Bank.
An eyewitness said that the Israeli occupation soldiers fired rubber bullets and tear gas grenades at Palestinian youths, "rejecting the occupation and settlement projects."
He added, "The confrontations took place at a point of contact between an area under the control of the Palestinian Authority and another under Israeli control, where Israeli soldiers are stationed at a military post at the entrance to Al-Shuhada Street, in the center of Hebron."
During the confrontations, the Israeli occupation soldiers used equipment in an attempt to rip out the door of a house to reach its roof.
Earlier, on Saturday, the Israeli occupation soldiers carried out a search campaign in the center of Hebron, which targeted shops and surveillance cameras in the Old City of Hebron.
There are five settlement outposts in Hebron and the surrounding of the Ibrahimi Mosque, in which about 700 settlers live, compared to about 7,000 Palestinians.
