Discussing the latest develpments concering the Palestinian issue, Ismail Haniyeh, the Head of Hamas political bureau, accompanied by a senior Hamas delegation, met on Saturday Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul.
The Hamas delegation included Hamas deputy chief Saleh Al-Aruri, chief of Hamas abroad Maher Salah, and head of Hamas Arab and Islamic relations office Ezzat Al-Rishiq, and Hamas representative in Turkey Jihad Yaghmor.
Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh congratulated Erdogan on the advent of a new Hijri year, the discovery of a new natural gas field, and the reopening of the Aya Sofia Mosque.
The Hamas delegation briefed Erdogan on the latest developments concerning the Palestinian issue, especially Israeli plans to annex parts of the West Bank and Jordan Valley and normalisation activities with the Israeli occupation describing them as a stab in the back of the Palestinian people.
The Hamas chief highlighted the efforts of the movement to unify Palestinian action and position with Fatah and the other Palestinian factions against normalisation, annexation plans, and judaization of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Hamas official hailed the Turkish honorable position in support of the Palestinians’ rights and steadfastness.
