Days of Palestine – Salfit
Hundreds of Palestinians marched on Friday in the funeral of Ibrahim Abu Yaaqoub who was murdered by Israeli occupation forces in Salfit, West Bank, on Thursday night.
The funeral procession set off from Yasser Arafat Hospital towards Abu Yaaqoub's family house in Kifl Hares village in Salfit before he was buried in the village’s cemetery.
The marchers roamed the streets of Kifl Hares, chanting slogans mourning Abu Yaaqoub and condemning the Israeli crime.
Ibrahim Mustafa Abu Yaaqoub, 34, was killed after he was shot by Israeli occupation forces in Kufl Hares village near the northern West Bank city of Salfit.
Abu Yaaqoub was rushed to nearby Salfit Public Hospital but was announced dead shorty after.
Mohammad Abdessalam Asaad, 17, another young Palestinian man was also shot and moderatly injured in the foot.
According to eyewitnesses, the occupation forces opened fire at the two young men and killed them in cold blood while out walking with their friends and posing no threat to the lives of the soldiers.
Governor of Salfit, Abdullah Kamil, held Israel responsible for this crime and fostering a culture of immunity for the Israeli occupation forces.
