Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya has welcomed the Arab Peace Group’s initiative that is aimed at holding talks with the Palestinian factions to heal the rift in the Palestinian arena and achieve national unity.
“Hamas welcomes any positive steps that push towards achieving the Palestinian reconciliation, especially when this comes from Arab elites who are keen on protecting our people’s interests,” Haneyya said.
This came during a meeting held in Doha on Tuesday between the Hamas leadership and representatives of the Arab Peace Group to discuss the initiative.
