Days Of Palestine – Jenin

A Palestinian prisoner in Israel has completed 17 years behind bars out of a 21-year-priosn sentence he got for resisting the occupation, on Tuesday said Muntaser Samoor, head of the Jenin office of the Palestinian Prisoner Society.

He told WAFA news agency that Kamel Shalabi, 47, from the town of Silat al-Harthiyeh, west of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, is serving his prison sentence in the Naqab desert prison in the south of Israel.

Shalabi, father of two girls, also had a son born in 2014 through an in-vitro fertilization (IVF) of his wife with his sperms smuggled from prison.

There are currently over 5000 Palestinians imprisoned in Israel for resisting the occupation.
