Days Of Palestine – Gaza
Ahmed Bahar, acting speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), has appealed to Abdullah Al ash-Sheikh, chairman of the Saudi Shura Council, to intervene urgently to remove the injustice being inflicted on Palestinian detainees in Saudi Arabia and have them released.
This came in a letter sent on Sunday to Al ash-Sheikh, in which Bahar underlined the Palestinian people’s appreciation for the historical positions of the Saudi leadership and people.
The acting speaker expressed his shock and dismay at the holding of trials for dozens of Palestinians on noncriminal charges.
He explained that all the financial donations and support for the Palestinian during the past decades had been collected and channeled with the full knowledge of the successive Saudi governments and spent for purely humanitarian purposes.
A few days ago, the Saudi security and legal authorities started to hold court hearings for dozens of Palestinian and Jordanian detainees being held for long months, with no trials.
Among the detainees are senior Hamas official Mohamed al-Khudari, 81, and his son Hani, 49.
