Israeli occupation police on Friday attacked Palestinian worshipers following the dawn prayer at al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and arrested an elderly citizen.

Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli police arrested an elderly Palestinian for distributing coffee to worshipers.

The Israeli police further assaulted the worshipers who were present in Bab al-Asbat and Bab Hitta areas.

The Israeli police since the early morning hours have tightened restrictions in Jerusalem and the roads leading to al-Aqsa Mosque in an attempt to hinder the movement of the Palestinian worshipers taking part in the "Great Fajr (dawn) Campaign".
