An armed Jewish settler attacked on Monday Palestinian farmers while picking their olive trees in the village of Shufa, to the south of the northern West Bank city of Tulkarm, according to a local activist.
Tahseen Hamid, a member in the village’s defense of land committee, told WAFA that an armed Israeli settler from the nearby illegal settlement of Avni Hefetz prevented local farmers from picking their olive trees and threatened to shoot them if they do not leave their land.
The olive harvest is the most important season for thousands of Palestinian household whose annual income heavily depends on the olive and olive oil products.
