Hamas hails prisoners for winning battle against suppression

Days of Palestine -

The Hamas Movement said that "the prisoners of freedom" were able, as every time, to impose their will on their oppressive jailers.

In a press release on Thursday, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem affirmed that what the hunger-striking prisoners achieved in their recent battle  was a practical embodiment of the Palestinian people’s ability to defeat the occupation with modest means.

“The issue of the prisoners and their release from Israeli jails will remain one of the central priorities of Hamas, which will work tirelessly to achieve this strategic goals,” spokesman Qasem underlined.

The Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs announced that the representatives of the Palestinian prisoners on Wednesday reached an agreement with officials from the Israeli prison service and the intelligence apparatus.

According to the Commission, the agreement will take effect on Thursday morning and includes pledges to return all hunger-striking prisoners to the jails they were transferred from and address the problem of cellphone jamming devices.
