JERUSALEM, Sunday, August 04, 2019 – Israeli occupation forces last night detained at least 11 Palestinians during raids across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank district of Jenin, according to local sources.
Israeli police raided the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Al-Issawiya and the Shuafat refugee camp, northeast of the city, and detained eight Palestinians after raiding and searching their homes.
In Jenin, north of the West Bank, army forces broke into the town of Qabatiya and detained three, also after raiding and searching their homes.
Almost on a daily basis, Israeli forces raid Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem in middle of the night to carry out arrests.
More than 5,500 Palestinian political prisoners are incarcerated in Israeli jails for resisting the Israeli occupation of their homeland.
