Inviting several singers and having the Israeli singer Netta Barzilai won the 2018 contest, Israel is expected to hold the semifinals of Eurovision in Tel Aviv on May 14 and 16 while the finals are to be on May 18.
As Madonna is expected to perform at the Eurovision song contest, the famous BDS activist and musician, Roger Waters, sent her an open letter arguing that singing in Israel is normalization with the occupation, the apartheid, the ethnic cleansing, the incarceration of children, and the slaughter of unarmed protesters.
Highlighting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which recognizes that every human has basic, the pro-Palestinian singer asserts that the Palestinians' right to life, liberty, and self-determination are being violated every day due to Israel, a repressive occupying country.
