The Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) has published the names of the Palestinian prisoners who suffered injuries during recent events in the Negev jail.

According to the PPS, the prisoners are Salam al-Qattawi, Nofel Adaween, Mahmoud Amarneh, Ibrahim Bayadsa (a veteran prisoner), Allawa Abu Zer, Enad al-Barghouthi, and Jihad al-Zaghel.

These prisoners were recently brought back to the prison from an Israeli hospital, except for prisoners Islam Wishahi and Uday Abu Salem who suffered serious bullet injuries during the events.

The administration of the Negev jail said that Wishahi and Abu Salem had been taken from the hospital to an interrogation facility, without providing information about their health conditions.

There are also another wounded prisoner called Anas Awwad, who were assaulted by Israeli forces after he allegedly tried to stab a jailer during a raid on section 21 of the Negev jail.

Awwad was supposed to be released yesterday, March 26, after he completed the term of his administrative detention. There is also no information about the health status of this prisoner.

The PPS also said that about 90 prisoner, who had been transferred recently from section 4 to 3 in the Negev jail, were isolated in their section, deprived of their mattresses, blankets and belongings, and tied to the beds in their cells, pointing out that some of those prisoners are patients and elderlies.

However, the Negev jailer returned yesterday the mattresses and blankets to those punished prisoners following pressures by fellow prisoners in other sections.
