Days Of Palestine [ Negev ] – The Palestinian Commission of Detainees' and Ex-Detainees' Affairs reported that 25 Palestinian prisoners suffered injuries, on Sunday evening, when Israeli forces attacked inmates in the Negev jail.
In a statement, head of the Commission Qadri Abu Baker said that 15 prisoners were transferred to the military hospital of Soroka in Beersheba for medical treatment, adding that two of them suffered critical injuries.
Abu Baker affirmed that lawyers from the Commission would visit the wounded prisoners in Soroka hospital.
Meanwhile, according to Asra Media Center that a Palestinian prisoner on Sunday evening was able to stab two Israeli soldiers in the Negev prison after special forces stormed cells and physically assaulted inmates.
One of the soldiers suffered serious injuries, while a second suffered a light injury.
The Center added that 15 Palestinian prisoners suffered injuries in violent clashes with Israeli forces in the jail, noting that helicopters landed outside the prison to evacuate the wounded soldiers.
Spokesman for the Palestinian Prisoner Center for Studies Riyad al-Ashqar explained that the events started when Israeli forces violently stormed section 4 of the prison and transferred its inmates to sections 3 and 7 and assaulted them.
Ashqar added that the provocative and violent practices of the forces prompted some Hamas prisoner to beat soldiers and stab two of them.
He affirmed that 15 prisoners in the jail suffered different injuries, three of them seriously, after Israeli forces intensively fired tear gas and live and rubber bullets at them.
