The UN Human Rights Council voted on March 15 to conduct an investigation into Israel's killing of Palestinians during the peaceful protests along the eastern parts of Gaza near the Israeli separating fence.
The council voted 29 in favor and two against while 14 countries abstained. Australia and the US were the two countries to oppose the decision. The council also condemned “the disproportionate and indiscriminate use of force by the Israeli occupying forces against Palestinian civilians.”
Tomorrow, Thursday, March 21, UN high commission for Human Rights will vote on the report of the UN investigation committee which confirmed the Israeli violations against the peaceful protesters in besieged Gaza Strip.
Palestinian victims hope that the countries who vote will stand with justice and raise this important issue in order to adopt the report towards criminalizing Israeli occupation before International Courts.
Since the beginning of the Great March of Return, Israel used deadly weapons to kill the peaceful Palestinians participating in the marches, claiming that they do so to defend themselves, while Human Rights organizations affirmed that participants of the Marches were unarmed. To date, Israeli occupation has killed more than 260 Palestinians and injured more than 28,000 others with different injuries.
