A group of extremist Israeli settlers shot on Thursday afternoon Palestinian farmer in the upper part of his body, leaving him dead, local sources reported.
The Israeli settlers descended from an illegal settlement near to the Palestinian village of Qusra in the outskirts of the West Bank city of Nablus.
“After the had come close to the Palestinian farms, the settlers started to harass the Palestinian farmers in the village,” an eyewitness told Days of Palestine.
“When the farmers tried to push the settlers out of their farms,” the eyewitness said, “an armed settler aimed his pistol towards a Palestinian farmer and opened fire.”
The Palestinians evacuated the farmer, who was murdered, to a Palestinian hospital in Nablus, but the Israeli occupation forces stormed the hospital and abducted the body, Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian Authority official, who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank, said.
According to the Palestinian paramedics, the Palestinian farmer was identified as Mohamed Odeh, 48, from the city of Nablus. He had been beaten several times by the Israeli settlers while working in his farm.
Israeli occupation army and Israeli settler council in the West Bank claimed that the Israeli settlers were little boys and they were in a vacation.
Then, the Palestinians gathered around them and blocked them inside a cave and beat them. Therefore, one out of two armed guards, who escorted them, used his handgun to disperse the mob, but mistakenly a bullet hit the Palestinian farmer and killed him.
Occupied West Bank witnesses almost daily similar aggression by the extremist Israeli settlers, who are protected by the Israeli government.
Israeli rights groups have several times reported that the Israeli police does not deal with the Palestinian complaints regarding the harassment and attacks of these settlers.
