Israeli occupation forces kidnapped 2,355 Palestinians in Jerusalem since 1 October 2015, according to statistics published by the Committee of Prisoners’ Families.
Just over a third of all those kidnapped in Jerusalem – 866 – were children, including 79 under 12 years old.
According to the committee, the areas with the highest numbers of kidnappings were: Isawiya, the Old City, Silwan, at-Tur and Shuafat refugee camp.
The statistics showed that half of all those kidnapped – 1,146 – were grabbed from their beds during night house raids.
In addition, the committee noted that 42 Jerusalemites were issued with administrative detention orders of between three and six months, while others were subjected to house arrests.
Dozens of Palestinians were kidnapped over charges of incitement on social media.
