Days of Palestine, West Bank –Israeli occupation forces shot dead a young Palestinian in occupied West Bank city of Nablus on Thursday morning.
The shooting came shortly after an Israeli human rights group accused the regime of “summary execution” of the Palestinians.
Israeli forces opened fire at the Palestinian man at the Hawwara Military Checkpoint in Nabuls, fatally wounding him.
Witnesses said that the Palestinian youth, who was identified as Abdullah Nasasrah, 15, was initially wounded but succumbed to his injuries after Israeli forces had prevented an ambulance from reaching the scene of the shooting.
Palestinian sources said Israeli forces took away the Nasasrah’s body and closed the Hawwara military checkpoint.
The incident came only a day after Israeli human rights group B’Tselem slammed Israeli military for using “excessive and unwarranted” force and “lethal gunfire” against Palestinian protesters.
The group said the behaviour was “tantamount to the summary execution of assailants or suspected assailants.”
In a number of cases, Israeli forces did not stop shooting at Palestinians even when they no longer posed any threat and also denied medical care to Palestinians who were shot at the scenes, the group said.
More than 120 Palestinians have been killed in the recent escalation, which started in October to protest against Israeli daily aggression and violations against Palestinians.
