Days of Palestine, Ankara –Nine Palestinian migrants from Syria have drowned in Turkish territorial waters, official Turkish sources said on Wednesday.
The vessel, which carried 40 migrants, left the northern Lebanese port of Tripoli on Monday and capsized after entering Turkish territorial waters.
According to the sources, the people on board were Palestinians from Al-Yarmouk Refugee Camp in Damascus. Women and children, the sources said, were among the dead.

They also said that the survivors were taken to hospitals in Turkey.
The UN says about 264,500 people have crossed the Mediterranean Sea so far this year, trying to reach Europe. That compares to 219,000 for all of 2014, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
According to the UN refugee agency, during the last week alone, 20,843 migrants arrived in Greece, which has witnessed around 160,000 migrants landed on its territories since January.
IOM estimates almost 2,350 people have died this year on those sea journeys.
